Paul Guerra is CEO of the Victorian Camber of Commerce and Industry and was guest speaker at last Tuesday's ESG Forum morning Zoom meeting. Paul gave us a very interesting insight into the challenge of bringing small and family businesses along on the ESG journey. He said the very best of these businesses are already applying ESG principles in their day to day management but not presenting their success in these terms. He emphasised how important it is for small and family businesses to start explicitly talking about ESG as many of their customers especially Government are going to want to see ESG credentials before including these businesses in their supply chains. The bottom-line is ESG principles will help these businesses be more profitable, retain staff and win more customers. He also talked about a number of programs the Chamber has in place to support creation and implementation of an ESG based business improvement program.
