Starts: Sunday, 11 August 2024
Ends: Sunday, 11 August 2024
Wild Voices Music Theatre is a voice and piano studio based in Dickson, inside a purpose-built, architect-designed building wrapped around the magnificent oak tree that gives the venue its name. Kim Harvey and Roland Hector, the building owners, made a special space for WVMT inside their building and this has allowed them to thrive and grow there since they moved in at the end of 2018. Students range from eight years to those in their 70s, and are studying music for many reasons – for pleasure, to keep the brain active, as skills development, and, in many cases, because they wish to have a professional life in the arts. Every year Wild Voices Music Theatre present a showcase of their work, and every year aim to build a concert that will surprise, delight, entertain and move audiences. Singing, dancing, acting, playing the piano - solos, duets, ensembles - in a genre-busting program. Dianna Nixon, celebrating 20 years of professional practice in this region this year, will curate this event and accompany on piano.
