Learn to splice a rope with Laura Goodin. If a rope breaks when you’re out at sea, up in a bell tower, or out on a remote farm, or if you can’t afford a costly new rope, your only option may be to repair the broken rope yourself. In this half-day workshop, you will learn two classic methods of joining rope ends together: the short splice and the long splice (if time permits, the workshop may also cover the eye splice), and when to use which one. It’s best to be prepared.
