The Townsville Gem and Mineral Show is an annual event held over 2 days in mid to late July. The event currently attracts around 5000 visitors from Townsville and surrounding regions. The event accommodates over 50 vendors plus club stalls that provide activities for everyone from fossicking, gold panning, sapphire wash, flat lapping, oyster shucking and much more. Food and drink stalls available as well as live radio broadcast. Vendors have a variety of all things related to gems, minerals and jewellery making where you can find your favourite polished stones and crystals, beads, precious and semi-precious gemstones, even jewellery making and lapidary tools. For the serious Rockhound you can even purchase your own machinery.
