The Joy of Colour

Starts: Saturday, 17 August 2024
Ends: Sunday, 06 October 2024
A painting workshop with well-known Ballarat Artist Lars Stenberg. In this painting workshop you will learn techniques and approaches to handle colour. You will explore materials, pigments, and approaches to mixing and applying paint to create rich, harmonious paintings. You will look at how colour helps express how you feel about what you paint. The workshop will focus on acrylic paints. Ballarat artist Lars Stenberg’s work focuses on the sensory experience of landscape: the combination of how the landscape looks, how he feels when he is moving through it, and how he remembers the experience afterwards. He studied drawing and painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Scotland in the early 1980’s. Although best known for his easel paintings, he also works across digital media and has undertaken several public art commissions. Over the years he has taught art in primary, secondary and university settings. He has exhibited internationally including shows in New York and London, as well as Maldon and Fryerstown.
