The Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph

The Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph

Starts: Saturday, 17 August 2024
Ends: Saturday, 17 August 2024
Bakers from near and far around the country will converge on Merbein to find out who has baked the ultimate award winning vanilla slice. Throughout the day there will be live entertainment, children's entertainment and activities, vanilla slices to buy and try, wine tastings and market stalls. A great family fun day out. The Great Vanilla Slice Triumph began in Ouyen in 1998 after then-Victorian premier Jeff Kennett claimed the vanilla slice from the town’s Mallee Bakery was the best he’d ever tasted. Over the years the competition has attracted entries from far and wide. In 2012 it moved to Merbein.
