The Feast of the Three Saints is held at St Johns Parish School in Silkwood every year. Silkwood is a short 25 minute drive South from Innisfail. The Feast is held annually on the first Sunday in May, to celebrate and Commemorate the lives of three brothers, Saints Alfio, Filadelfo and Cirino, who were martryed for their Christian beliefs. Sunday will see a concelebrated Italian Mass with visiting Italian and local priests, a Solemn Procession through Silkwood and an English concelebrated Mass immediately following , for the Blessing and Veneration of the relics of the Three Saints. Other festivities include a barbecue, with traditional Italian food, stalls and entertainment and, of course, at 7.00 p.m. will herald the lighting of the night skies with a brilliant fireworks display. Everyone is welcome to attend. The day is a celebration of the cultural significance and contribution of the Italian heritage to the Australian way of life, by its food, music and customs. It attracts around 4,000 people on the day and is the largest Religious / Cultural Festival of its kind held in Australia.
