The stories of Tom Petty and Bob Dylan are deeply entangled. Petty being a long term Dylan admirer, was drawn to Dylan with Petty’s emergence in the late 70’s. Dylan found a kindred spirit in Petty’s narratives, vocal delivery and his band the Heartbreakers. So much so that the Heartbreakers became Dylan’s band for much of the 80’s, resulting in the eventual ‘True Confessions’ tour of Australia in 1986. They subsequently became members of the Traveling Wilburys, and the rest is indeed, history. The Album Show finally brings these two iconic artists back together, in a night showcasing the careers and legacies of both, as well as their work in the Traveling Wilburys. Performed with a big 6 piece band, the show will draw together stories and songs, truly celebrating the work of two of the most important and enduring artists of the rock generation.
