Tasting Table – Mills & Masters - Prolific Pinot

Starts: Thursday, 09 May 2024
Ends: Thursday, 09 May 2024
Partial to pinot noir? We have just the thing. Join two acclaimed New Zealand winemakers for a tasting in celebration of this extraordinary variety. Ata Rangi’s Helen Masters and Nick Mills from Rippon will guide guests through an exemplary session featuring the best pinot noir being produced in their home nation and beyond. Gather at East End favourite Mother Vine for this rare opportunity. Masters first worked at Ata Rangi while taking a gap year in 1990, returning in 2003 as an assistant and quickly becoming winemaker. She makes magic with low yields from the label’s Martinborough vineyards, crafting pinot noir that has earned the New Zealand equivalent of grand cru status. Mills, meanwhile, is based at Rippon in Central Otago, using biodynamic practices to nurture vineyards first planted in 1982. Pinot noir remains the flagship, offering structure and elegance in equal measure. Expect New Zealand’s finest, together with stellar examples from further afield. This is pinot at is most captivating.
