Symphony Series 5 – Rhapsody

Starts: Saturday, 16 August 2025
Ends: Saturday, 16 August 2025
The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra performs at Adelaide Town Hall this August for their fifth Symphony Series concert of the season! The program features works from Mozart, Prokofiev, Smetana, and Janáček. Follow the ripples of a mountain stream as it flows into the city of Prague in Smetana’s illustrative homage to his homeland, The Moldau. This evocative program also features a rhapsody from Janáček, confronting the full gamut of emotions that arise during love and war. Mozart’s solemn and gracious Masonic Funeral Music will unfurl, before Prokofiev’s dynamic Violin Concerto No.2 is performed by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s Concertmaster, Kate Suthers.
