Strathalbyn Rotary Duck Race

Strathalbyn Rotary Duck Race

Starts: Sunday, 01 December 2024
Ends: Sunday, 01 December 2024
There are not many places in the world where you can gather to watch thousands of yellow plastic ducks being blow along a river. The Strathalbyn Rotary Duck Race is an annual family fun day as well as being a major fundraiser for the club. Ducks are sold prior to the event and a number of heats are "run" using the specially designed everglades wind machine to encourage the duck to reach the finish line. The cash prizes are worth winning and the day is always fun with onsite food vans, music, kids' games and a craft market to explore. All this happens in the Strathalbyn Soldiers' Memorial Gardens on the picturesque banks of the Angas River.
