Starlit Dinner: An Evening with Astrophysicist Dimitri

Starts: Saturday, 21 September 2024
Ends: Saturday, 21 September 2024
Introducing a two-hour extraordinary stargazing experience with Astrophysicist Dimitri, where you will discover the mesmerising night skies of the South Coast. You will experience an out-of-this-world journey to space led by Astrophysicist and TedX speaker Dimitri. The award-winning Stargazing experience includes naked-eye astronomy, laser-guided constellation storytelling, and state-of-the-art telescope viewing. Enjoy a three-course long table dinner under the stars, making this a night to remember. In the event of cloud cover or rain, there will be an indoor immersive guided exploration of the Universe, exploring the celestial dance of planets, stars and galaxies, using our astronomy software. You'll learn how to identify stars and constellations seen through the lens of different cultures and civilisations. Dr Dimitri Douchin the astrophysicist and TEDx speaker will deliver a captivating fireside chat about the latest breakthroughs in astrophysics, his current research in cultural astronomy working with local Aboriginal communities, dark sky preservation and how the human experience of looking into the sky is universal and fascinating. The evening will conclude with a lively Q&A session with the astrophysicist.
