Sons of Sun

Starts: Sunday, 16 February 2025
Ends: Sunday, 16 February 2025
It’s the 1950s. Sam Phillips has just discovered Elvis and rock ‘n’ roll is taking off across the globe. As a result, Sun Records becomes the most famous record label in the world. A new musically driven play based on the glory of the music created at Sun Records, Sons of Sun follows Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and many more of the legends who pioneered the genre. Accompanied by a three-piece live band, over 35 hit songs are performed in this exciting new piece of theatre, including That’s Alright, Mama, Blue Moon, I Walk The Line, Great Balls of Fire and many more. Sons of Sun is a compelling, original and heartbreaking blend of rock ‘n’ roll theatre. Performances included The Listies, Peter & The Wolf, Comedian Tahir and A Little Bit of Blue. Workshops include dancing, art and puppetry.
