Shades of Life Exhibition by Four Riverland Artists

Starts: Wednesday, 07 August 2024
Ends: Monday, 30 September 2024
A new exhibition at the Rain Moth Gallery entitled “ Shades of Life “ will feature four Renmark artists who all use different artistic techniques resulting in stunning as well as colourful works. Tony Smith uses pen and ink to depict drawings of River redgums. His fine drawings often take years to complete, and Tony has earned excellence awards from the Royal Society of Arts for his work. Che Woosman took up acrylic painting pouring about five years ago as a hobby. He has progressed to abstract art, which is now his passion. Colleen Munday is a self-taught artist who works mainly with acrylic paints. She recently resumed painting after a three-decade break. She finds her inspiration in the natural landscapes of the Riverland. The final artist, Sev Johnson, is a self-taught collage artist who “paints with paper” and has become addicted to the technique. Sev’s inspiration comes from the bush landscape and other natural elements. Her collages are created with torn scraps of paper strategically arranged and glued onto a stretched canvas to create the final image. The “ Shades of Life “ exhibition will open at the Rain Moth gallery on Sunday, August 4th, at 2 p.m. and run until September 30th.
