Roderick Williams in Recital - Newcastle Music Festival

Roderick Williams in Recital - Newcastle Music Festival

Starts: Friday, 23 August 2024
Ends: Friday, 23 August 2024
A singer fit for a King! The Festival committee is thrilled to announce that Roderick Williams, who performed at the Coronation of King Charles III, has generously agreed to appear in this year's Festival. Roderick's recital concert will take place after the main Festival events, as a Festival Encore! Associate artist with Roderick will be acclaimed pianist Claire Howard Race. The songs to be performed represent the cream of the baritone repertoire. Visit Newcastle in August! There is so much to enjoy in this beautiful city – the weather is usually crisp and clear. Don’t miss Darby Street and its world of restaurants and designer shops. The light rail and bus services are convenient and there are plenty of great accommodation options. Christ Church Cathedral, one of our main venues, is only a few minutes’ walk from the ocean. Watch for whales and dolphins from any beach vantage point. Enjoy the coastal walk to Bar Beach, and lunch at Merewether Surf House. Ride a bike along the scenic Fernleigh Track. Stroll in tranquil Blackbutt Reserve and Hunter Wetlands Centre: enjoy a meal at the Wetlands Centre’s excellent café. The Hunter Valley vineyards and beautiful Port Stephens are an hour away with fabulous dining options and scenic tours.
