Rise and Shine LGBTQIA+ Art Exhibition

Rise and Shine LGBTQIA+ Art Exhibition

Starts: Saturday, 05 October 2024
Ends: Monday, 07 October 2024
Coastal Twist LGBTIQ Arts and Culture Festival will be unveiling a major new exhibition “Rise and Shine” aligning with the 2024 Festival theme and featuring a curation of locally based professional, mid-career and promising emerging multiplatform artists displaying pieces across ceramics, painting, photography, multimedia and sculpture with each work offering a fresh Central Coast LGBTIQ perspective, with a unique Coastal Twist. This year there will be youth entries as well as an all-ages category. This year marks the fourth Coastal Twist Festival LGBTIQA+ art exhibition and this year’s works are examining and revealing personal stories, Central Coast lives and celebrating art. Artists responding to the “Rise and Shine” theme in different ways, some have made political works challenging the status quo, others made work about their struggles they have overcome into empowerment, and others have made intimate personal works talking about transformation in their lives.
