The Academy Challenge is the annual netball competition for all Regional Academies of Sport throughout New South Wales. The Academy Challenge has been hosted by individual academies in regional areas for over ten years and remains a relevant opportunity within Netball NSW’s athlete and coach pathway. In 2024, the competition will be held over a weekend in September at the Port Macquarie Indoor Stadium, hosted by the North Coast Academy of Sport (NCAS). The event aims to provide consistent opportunities for all netball athletes, coaches, umpires and managers leading to state and national representation opportunities offered by Netball NSW, the event’s operating partner. Through competition, talent identification, mentoring and workshops, NCAS aims to deliver a valuable and educational experience for all attendees. The desired outcome of the event hopes to see individual goal setting and growth, with a core focus on successfully delivering competition as well as educational workshops in areas such as leadership, goal setting, integrity in sport and coach and manager upskilling.
