Starts: Sunday, 26 May 2024
Ends: Sunday, 26 May 2024
Be prepared to get messy using the medium of charcoal in a number of ways to layer the artwork on cartridge paper. Jennie loves to experiment with styles, genre and mediums and is always expanding her knowledge which she keenly shares with her students. She is passionate about mixed media and traveling with her sketch book. This workshop includes step by step demonstrations on techniques including measuring and the various layering techniques will be given as well as individual support. This class is intended for intermediates as well as those more experienced, working off your reference (well-lit from one source in black or white) or the tutor’s. The humble eraser, be it hard plastic or mechanical, will become an intricate drawing tool to tonally work on the features of the face. Notes on the anatomical characteristics of the face will be given and discussed. All materials supplied. Bring your apron and any materials you have. Bring your own photos in black and white or access Jennie’s. Morning tea provided.
