The Parkes Show is held each year at the end of August and runs over three days and two nights with plenty of entertainment, side shows and trade stands along with a spectacular fireworks display that can be seen from miles around. The event also features four days of horse events as well as exhibits of sheep, cattle, birds and poultry. The Parkes Show is one of the biggest agricultural shows west of the Blue Mountains.
