Wander around the main street of Neerim South and admire the sculptures entered into the 2024 Neerim Bower Sculpture Show and Acquisition, enjoy pop-up activations and entertainment and relax over a coffee or lunch. Plus, witness a mural unfold in the centre of town by the talented Melanie Caple and enjoy a magical movie night under the stars. Entries are judged by the illustrious David Ashley Kerr and local sculpting legend Laurie Collins. In addition to the main acquisition, a Small Sculpture Award of $3,000 and a People’s Choice Award of $1000 are up for grabs. The liberating theme – ‘’FREE as a BIRD’’, is to challenge sculptors to create visual excitement, wonder, and an expression of freedom. Neerim South’s collection of public art, is a legacy of the ‘’Neerim Bower – Inspired by Birds’’, Small Town Transformation Arts Grant, from Regional Arts Victoria, awarded in 2013.
