Mural Fest 2024

Starts: Wednesday, 06 November 2024
Ends: Saturday, 09 November 2024
Held annually since 2003, Mural Fest is a truly unique, annual event comprising of a mural painting competition and other arts-related activities, attracting mural artists from Australia and around the world. Conducted in Mural Park, Sheffield’s very own ‘Outdoor Art Gallery’ in the heart of Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain touring region, Mural Fest tests an artist’s skills, endurance, and tenacity while subjecting them to public scrutiny, time constraints and sometimes unpredictable Tasmanian weather! Mural Fest 2023 'Celebrating 20 Years of Mural Fest', will take place between Monday 6th November and Saturday 11th November and will be open to the public free of charge. This year nine artists have been selected to paint a mural over a six-day period based on the theme ‘The Spirit of Adventure’. Three prizes will be awarded, The People’s Choice Award (AUD$15,000), The People's Choice Runner-Up Award (AUD $5,000), and the Volunteers Award (AUD$1,000). These murals will remain on display in Mural Park for eleven months, just prior to Mural Fest 2024. Mural Fest is committed to creating an annual event that contributes to the unique interest of the ‘Town of Murals’ by providing emerging and established artists with an opportunity to showcase their talents in a public forum, assisting in their artistic growth and development, and promoting mural art as a valued art form.
