Mirboo North Winterfest is a celebration that brings light to the darkest winter days through a two-day celebration of food, arts and culture. Saturday is full of festival vibes with food and drink stalls operating from 4pm, throughout the afternoon and evening. Kick off with drumming and dance workshops followed by the beautiful Ridgway Lantern Parade at dusk. There will be live music from Ally Row in the Tipi and local drinks from the Winterfest Bar to take you through until the end of the night. From 8:45pm on Saturday night the Shire Hall will be hopping to a full set from Skazz - a double barrel mix of two blistering musical styles, Ska and Jazz. Inspired by music from the loudest island in the world – Jamaica - this classy outfit mash-up the offbeat skank grooves of ska, rock steady and reggae, with the wild blowing of jazz. Add in some afro-latin beats and it is impossible to keep still. Skazz have played to packed audiences at numerous festivals in Australia and overseas. Sunday is a recovery day, it’s all about the Artisans Market, which runs from 9am - 2pm. So, take it back a gear and relax in the Tipi with live music all day and feasting your way through the food stalls.
