The Merrijig Rodeo highly successful annual event held on the Saturday of the March Labour Day weekend. The Merrijig Rodeo has been running for over forty years and is a part of the tri-series along with Kyabram and Chiltern Rodeos. The Merrijig Rodeo attracts participants from all over Australia. It is a highly entertaining event, with a large number of spectators attending each year. Kid friendly sideshows, food stalls and a bar are all there in the picturesque setting of McCormack Park in the heart of the High Country. This event gets bigger and better every year and includes a Junior Rodeo, Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc, Bareback, Open Tope and Tie, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Open Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping as well as a Junior Steer Ride. All funds raised from the event are distributed amongst local beneficiaries. BYO chairs. Fully licensed. On site camping available. Shuttle Bus from Mansfield.
