Make – Boerewors with Duncan Welgemoed

Starts: Friday, 03 May 2024
Ends: Friday, 03 May 2024
Add finesse to your cooking in this fresh new series. Hosted by Mandy Hall and led by chefs and artisans, sessions will share stories through food and focus on one simple skill. Each is set to be fun and immersive, with no assumed knowledge, plenty of guidance and a drink as you go. Let’s get started. Join Adelaide chef Duncan Welgemoed as he prepares a traditional South African dish and reflects on his path to success. Discover the unique blend of boerewors meat and spices, its cultural significance and how to recreate the sausage for your home barbecue. Welgemoed remains at the forefront of Adelaide dining, with his East Terrace restaurant Africola a city go-to. It was recently joined by a Norwood offshoot, Africola Canteen, which offers seasonal salads and a selection of favourite dishes from HQ. Born in South Africa, Welgemoed trained across a suite of top international kitchens – Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay among them – before making his way to South Australia. INCLUSIONS – Make sessions run for 90 minutes and include a beverage, sample of the dish being prepared, recipe card and Tasting Australia tote bag.
