The Lismore Lantern Parade is an annual community event held on or around the longest night of the year, being the Winter Solstice. The first parade was held in 1993 with just a couple of hundred people in the parade. It has grown more and more each year.
The day will commence in the heart of the CBD for the Market delight. A Welcome to Country with the delightful Jarjums and Aunty Thelma James. You can write a Love Letter to the River or a Wish for Lismore with the Valentines, under the Heart in Magellan Street.
The Summerland Credit Union's Games Space will provide loads of fun for young people of all ages. The Summerland Credit Union have also subsidised the school lantern workshops this year, and the lovely Summerland Credit Union staff will be joining the Lantern Parade team when they run lantern making workshops in schools.
The Market delight will have a fabulous array of local food stalls to feast upon, craft stalls and community fundraising stalls. The bouncing castles and kids activities will be back.
Take time to wander the CBD and delight at the lovely Enchanted Windows and Lismore eateries.
The Northern Rivers Conservatorium will again present a fabulous musical program in Carrington Street.
