Lakes Trail Festival

Lakes Trail Festival

Starts: Sunday, 07 July 2024
Ends: Sunday, 07 July 2024
Welcome to Australia’s newest off road ultra running event, traversing the Myall Coast. The race is based in Hawks Nest taking runners along beaches, past lakes and through forests, tracking some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the Australia. The 100 kilometre course has arguably the most beautiful halfway point in Australia besides the beach at Seal Rocks, taking runners past the iconic sugar-loaf lighthouse. This trail running experience will be unique as it combines coastal trails with forest tracks, sand dunes, beaches, and rocky headlands taking runners through remote wilderness areas. In the Lakes Trail Festival, runners can compete 100 kilometre, 70 kilometre, 50 kilometre or 30 kilometre, as a team or solo. There is also a 12 kilometre and 1 kilometre kids run for those wanting a shorter trail experience. Solo runners can go for a quick run or go all day in the ultimate 100 kilometre. Teams of up to four, can run the 100 kilometre course separated into four legs and finish together, while teams of two can run the 50 kilometre race. This is an excellent time of year to go for a run. Temperature-wise it will be cool at night but mild during the day – perfect running weather.
