Lighting up the Airwaves. The Flagstaff Hill lighthouses are among many worldwide being celebrated over a weekend dedicated to highlighting the importance of promoting, preserving and protecting lighthouse heritage. To mark this occasion, Flagstaff Hill, in collaboration with the Warrnambool Men's Shed Radio Group, will host a 48-hour amateur radio event from the upper lighthouse complex. The annual event will bring together over 400 lighthouse-based amateur radio groups from across the world all aiming to establish communication with as many other operators as possible over the course of the weekend.
