A tribute to Kumanjai Lewis, hosted by Steven Oliver A favourite on the Festival calendar, join us as we wrap up Garrmalang Festival 2024 with a very special Big Black Dot Comedy Spectacular honouring and paying tribute to Warramungu warrior and Deadly Darwin comedy OG, Kumanjai Lewis. Hosted by Steven Oliver, Deadly Darwin comedians and special guests. Steven Oliver is a descendant of the Kuku-Yalanji, Waanyi, Gangalidda, Woppaburra, Bundjalung and Biripi peoples. An actor, writer, poet and producer, he became notorious with ABC’s Black Comedy where his creations ‘The Tiddas’ helped gain him a Favourite Comedy Performer of the Decade finalist nomination at the 2020 AACTA’s. Community Tix Garrmalang Festival and Darwin Entertainment Centre are committed to working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to celebrate and elevate First Nations culture, and increase accessibility and participation in the arts. All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can access reserved Community tickets for this event. Garrmalang Festival runs from Wednesday 22 – Saturday 25 May 2024.
