Fungi Feastival - Photography Workshop - Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens

Starts: Sunday, 30 June 2024
Ends: Sunday, 30 June 2024
An intensive fungi photography workshop with Stephen Axford and Catherine Marciniak. What's not to love about photographing fungi? These beautiful sculptural organisms are incredibly colourful and diverse and the perfect characters for a photographic portrait in nature. And just by documenting the mushrooms we see, each of us has the capacity to increase what the world knows about this neglected kingdom of life. In this workshop, master fungi photographer and his partner in life and fungi, filmmaker Catherine Marciniak, will teach you how to get the best photograph of a mushroom with the camera you have in your bag, whether that is the top-of-the-line digital camera or your mobile phone. The workshop covers: what to look for in fungi – the diversity of structure and forms; composition, exposure, lighting, focus; Stephen’s hot tips to improve your shots; focus bracketing demonstration; and a field trip at the workshop location to practice what you have learned. Stephen is an internationally recognised fungi photographer. Catherine is a renowned cinematographer and myco media specialist. It is their work that you see in National Geographic films and books and on the BBC’s Planet Earth2. If photography is your passion, don't miss out.
