Friday Night Socials at Science Gallery Melbourne

Friday Night Socials at Science Gallery Melbourne

Starts: Friday, 03 May 2024
Ends: Friday, 07 June 2024
Party after dark at Science Gallery Melbourne! Science Gallery’s monthly after-hours events return in April, with a viewing of the current exhibition Not Natural, and a special performance art installation from The Rabble. Not Natural explores the growing friction between what we consider natural and artificial, and invites the audience to reflect on society’s ongoing interest in controlling, shaping and adapting the natural environments around you. This year, Friday Night Socials feature theatre makers who will test the boundaries of what is and isn’t natural. Come along for a night of music from DJ Huntress, roaming performance art from Snuff Puppets, experimental theatre, late-night exhibition viewing and food and drink. May Friday Night Social: Yandell Walton. Yandell Walton is teaming up with Harrison Hall to live experiment with technology that merges live performers with virtual plant life. June Friday Night Social: Bloomshed. It’s 90 seconds to midnight. The countdown’s on. It’s the final act before curtains – and the future’s up for grabs. Bloomshed blur the lines between human and machine in this brand-new performance installation.
