‘Fairy Land’ a solo exhibition by David Helmers. David Helmers explores the dynamic relationship between materials and queer identity, inviting viewers to rediscover joy through playful experimentation. Fairy Land challenges societal norms, inviting reflection on joy, resilience, and the agency of materials in shaping cultural dialogue. 'Fairy Land' will open alongside other exhibitions: 'Testamur 6' by Canberra Art Workshop and 'The Cave. A River. An Island' by Ross Andrews. They honour and pay their respects to their traditional custodians. They acknowledge this land ‘always was and always will be’ the country of Australia’s First Nations People. Sovereignty was never ceded.
