Dan Sultan and the ASO

Dan Sultan and the ASO

Starts: Saturday, 14 December 2024
Ends: Saturday, 14 December 2024
One of Australia’s most loved singer-songwriters, Dan Sultan, joins the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his third studio album, Blackbird, at Festival Theatre. Blackbird set Sultan’s wide-ranging talent as a songwriter and performer at the fore. It was filled with powerhouse riffs met by crackling gospel interludes, rock and roll and soul jams, pure country tones, and bare, aching ballads. With orchestral arrangements from Alex Turley and featuring original artwork from Dan’s long-time collaborator Jarra Karalinar Steel, this triumphant event is ten years in the making. “Dan Sultan’s Blackbird epitomises everything a good Australian rock album should be. A perfectly balanced blend of big band rock n’ roll matched with soft, soulful ballads.” – Tonedeaf
