Creepy Stories at Old Government House

Creepy Stories at Old Government House

Starts: Sunday, 08 September 2024
Ends: Tuesday, 08 October 2024
Calling all ghostbusters in training! Come along on a special one-hour twilight tour of the ground floor of Old Government House – a 222-year-old early Governor's country residence known for some very strange happenings. During this tour, you will listen to age-appropriate stories and antidotes about eerie incidents and spooky sightings while walking through the ground floor, lit by faux candlelight. Your expert guide will demonstrate the “ghost meters” and then together you will explore the house to learn about its heritage in a unique way. Children are encouraged to bring their scariest costumes along to add to the atmosphere of the event. Young guests will visit the School Room where there is a story of a young girl crying. They will hear about the first documented UFO sighting in Australia in Parramatta Park. You will be told stories of the spooky happenings on the staircase. Why did a cupboard door open by itself during a previous tour? What did a modern Governor of NSW see in the bedroom? Who is the Lady in Blue seen around the Corridors? And who disturbed the early Governors bed? Please note: This event is for ages nine -15. Children/teens must be accompanied by an adult.
