A new community farmers market is set to take place in Colac from September. A steering committee of eight have been working on starting the community market, which is set to be called the “Colac Growers and Makers Market” The first market will be held on Saturday the 7th of September from 10am till 2pm and will then be held on the first Saturday of each month moving forward. So far, approximately 30 stall holders will be on hand for the event, which will hopefully grow over time. The focus is on locally grown and locally made goods, with minimal pesticides being used, instead using sustainable healthy options to keep bugs off produce. The market is set to be held in the Pavilion building at the Colac Showgrounds.
