Botanic Gardens Day

Botanic Gardens Day

Starts: Sunday, 26 May 2024
Ends: Sunday, 26 May 2024
Join the national Botanic Gardens Day celebrations by dropping into Wollongong Botanic Garden to explore their amazing plant collections, enjoy a picnic with family and friends, or participate in their free community activities. Botanic Gardens Day is an annual day of celebration to shed light on the role of plants and the important work botanic gardens undertake every day to conserve them for future generations. This year there will be a number of free behind the scenes tours, a Dear Trees listening experience, t-shirt painting activities and a series of buggy and walking tours around the garden. Over at Puckeys Estate Nature Reserve (the annex site), a free interpretive walk will showcase this rare coastal habitat that includes rainforest, dunes and marshland. Bookings are required via Eventbrite. There will also be a botanic art and photography exhibition plus an excellent selection of native plants for sale from the Garden's Towri Centre. Drop in to participate in these free activities and who knows, you may 'find your inner botanist'. You can find the full program list online.
