Bill Kirchen (USA) continues his love affair with Australia this time playing Canberra with good friends, The Detonators (Melb). Bill Kirchen is best known for his work in the late 60’s-early 70’s from the Cosmic Cowboy era with seminal band of that genre Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen. Responsible for hits such as Hot Rod Lincoln, Semi Truck and Seeds and Stems. Bill went on to have a solo career that has spanned 5 decades and is known as one of the founding fathers of “Twangcore”. Bill has won a swag of awards, is the self-titled “King of Dieselbilly” and was named “The Titan of the Telecaster” by Guitar Magazine. In recent years he has collaborated with the likes of Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe. The Detonators were formed way back in August 1997 in Melbourne. This hard working quartet have never been afraid to hit the road, haul some kilometres and rack up a heap of gigs. With a finely honed array of original songs and a stage show that only comes from years of gigging pubs, clubs and festivals, The Detonators become crowned kings of Australia’s roots rock n roll.
