Bill Barber and The Holding Cell took out the 2023 MBAS blues performers of the year, placing in the semi finals at the international blues challenge in Memphis USA playing sold out ticketed shows and being invited to play some of the biggest Blues festivals in the country, including Blues on Broadbeach, Echuca Moama Winter Blues and many many more. Paul Buchanans Voodoo Preachers are local legends who have featured at festivals including Echuca Winter Blues, Blues Inn Bruthen, St Kilda Blues Festival, Boolarra Folk Festival and Glenmaggie Blues Festival as well as headlining at blues clubs in Victoria and NSW. In August 2023 Paul Buchanan’s Voodoo Preachers qualified as finalists in the MBAS International Blues Challenge.
