Ben Mingay and Friends - Newcastle Music Festival

Starts: Saturday, 10 August 2024
Ends: Saturday, 10 August 2024
Ben Mingay, Sue Carson, Heather Price - three home-grown Newcastle performers all with incredible versality perform together for the first time. Ben Mingay has performed roles as diverse as Papageno in The Magic Flute for Opera Australia this year, and Shrek in Shrek the Musical. His screen appearances include as Alan Bond in Nine Network's House of Bond, and as Buzz in Packed to the Rafters. Heather Price, a classically trained bass player, is now better known for her jazz performances, compositions, and warm vocals. Sue Carson plays a range of instruments, sings up a storm as a jazz singer or in classical repertoire. You can expect an evening of delights from this brilliant trio. Visit Newcastle in August! There is so much to enjoy in this beautiful city – the weather is usually crisp and clear. Don’t miss Darby Street and its world of restaurants and designer shops. The light rail and bus services will take you wherever you want to go. There are plenty of great accommodation options. Watch for whales and dolphins from any beach vantage point. Enjoy the coastal walk to Bar Beach, and lunch at Merewether Surf House. Ride a bike along the scenic Fernleigh Track. See you in Newcastle in August!
