AvoFest - Blackbutt Avocado Festival

AvoFest - Blackbutt Avocado Festival

Starts: Saturday, 14 September 2024
Ends: Saturday, 14 September 2024
Avo-Fest is a free event for all ages where you can enjoy the freshest and finest avocados from professional growers and home-grown products from the region's smaller growers. The inaugural farmer’s market will feature a variety of home-grown products that reflect a commitment to permaculture principles and sustainability. This festival celebrates all things Blackbutt, particularly their Blackbutt avocados -the sweetest and finest avocados you will ever find. Festival goers will have the opportunity to visit "Avo Central" to learn how to cook, eat and grow avocados. Everything avocado featuring Blackbutt avos will amaze and entertain all. Join in the avo juggling and other avo games and tests of skill. Make sure you have a roll or two in the famous Blackbutt Avo Roll and be in the roll for an AUD1,000 first prize for the closest to the pin. This year will again see the infamous "Avo Drop", where parachutists jump from 5,000 feet and attempt to grab a marker as they land inside the drawing of a giant avocado drawn inside the Blackbutt Showgrounds arena. Over AUD800 in prizes for the owners of the lucky markers grabbed by the parachutists. But the Festival is much more than that. Live music, street entertainment, free kids activities, historical guided tours, quirky ways to use, enjoy and have fun with avocado and much, much more.
