Since 2006, Northern United Rugby League Football Club Incorporated also known as the Dirawongs have hosted the Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Carnival across various venues on the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. The 2024 Lismore Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Carnival allows Aboriginal rugby league clubs and players to receive much needed preparation in their quest to win the prestigious NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Carnival and has now developed into one of the most popular cultural and sporting events on the Northern Rivers calendar. Many teams, players and supporters highlight this event every year as an opportunity to meet with families and friends from other communities spread out across the Far North Coast Region of NSW.
