Held in January at the picturesque Penola Racecourse the Coonawarra Vignerons Cup is one of the major tourist drawcards to the region, making it one of South Australia's most famous country racing events. Each year, the event welcomes more than 3,000 visitors from all parts of Australia to enjoy a full day of live racing action and trackside entertainment. One of the highlights of the day is the 36° South Coonawarra Vignerons Cup Marquee, which hosts over 700 wine industry people and guests. The all-inclusive Marquee event includes a 7.5 hour beverage package of Coonawarra fine wines, entry into the racecourse and marquee precinct, gourmet food - Breakfast, lunch AND afternoon tea, with imperial wine auctions, fashion prizes, live music and live racing action.
