Darwin in the Northern Territory will host the 42nd AFL Masters National Carnival from Friday 10 October to Sunday 19th October, 2025. The AFL Masters National Carnival is the largest mass participation football event in Australia with an estimated 70 teams across all eight Australian States and Territories spreads across 7 age divisions for Men (from 35s to over 65s) and 3 age divisions for Women (over 35s, over 40s and over 45s). Over 1500 players are expected to descend on Darwin to vie for the title of becoming AFL Masters National Champions. The Local Darwin Organising Committee have put together a tremendous calendar of off-field events for participants during the week including a high tea, the annual Golf Classic, day trips around the region, the prestigious Hall of Fame event and a fun-filled event on "Super Tuesday" for "kids" of all ages & sizes. The AFL Masters National Carnival starts with opening Meet & Greet events for each participating State & Territory on AFL Grand Final Day and concludes with a Gala Night at the Darwin Convention Centre where Carnival winners and All-Australians are feted. Matches throughout the week are being played at various grounds surrounding TIO Stadium and the Gardens Oval Complex.
