The Rotary Club of Rochester, Victoria, Australia has helped the local community achieve great things for more than 50 years.
The Provisional Rotary Club of Rochester was formed out of the organisational meeting held in the Shire Hall on 25th June 1964. In attendance were the District Governor Ern W. Oliver, Rotary Club of Bacchus Marsh and the Governor’s Special Representative, Ira O’Neill, Rotary Club of Echuca. Rotary Club of Echuca was the sponsor for the new Rotary Club of Rochester.
The Provisional Rotary Club Of Rochester was accepted into membership of Rotary International on June 30th, 1964 and became officially the Rotary Club of Rochester in Rotary District 280. The first meeting of the Rotary Club of Rochester was held on the 16th July 1964 in the old Fire Brigade Station, the site of the present Rochester Library and Community Hub. The Charter night was held on the 24th October 1964 and the rest as they say is history
