River's End Retreat is delighted to host our second 4 night Writer's Retreat. Your retreat includes: • 4 nights luxury accommodation • Hearty country breakfast each day • Daily lunches • Welcome event and evening Aperitivo sessions • Dinner each night • Full writer’s programme The convenor Ailsa Piper has worked for over thirty-five years as a writer, director, actor, teacher, speaker and broadcaster. As a writer, she works across many mediums. Highlights include winning the Patrick White Playwright’s Award for her script Small Mercies; publishing her first book Sinning Across Spain in 2012; and writing and performing an episode of ABC radio's Poetica programme. Ailsa also co-adapted Bell Shakespeare’s acclaimed version of The Duchess of Malfi in 2012. She combines compassion, rigour, curiosity, energy and insight. She likes to teach from the body as well as the mind. The sold out event here in March 2020 was extraordinary and all nine participants were extremely complimentary of the content, the accommodations and dining.
