Starts:
Saturday, 09 July 2022
Ends:
Saturday, 09 July 2022
Recommended age group: Teens aged 15-17*
Come along for a full-day workshop led by Aboriginal creatives Tikari Rigney, Jayda Wilson, Natalie Harkin and members of the Unbound Collective (Faye Rosas Blanch, Simone Ulalka Tur and Ali Gumillya Baker). As a NAIDOC week celebration, the workshop will be focused on learning about the history of Aboriginal protest art and how you can make your own voice heard through art.
Learn about the history of Aboriginal protest art, and how writing and art can be used as a voice for action from writer Natalie Harkin. Join artist Jayda Wilson in collaborating on a protest banner and zine-making extravaganza. Enjoy a lovely, complimentary catered lunch together. Then activate your artwork by holding your posters and banners proud as we walk to Pirltawardli (the First Aboriginal Mission in Adelaide and a place where all the early written records of Kaurna culture and language comes from). Make art for change, justice and fun!
