Tarago Truffle Hunts

Tarago Truffle Hunts

Starts: Saturday, 02 July 2022
Ends: Saturday, 03 September 2022
Your hosts, Denzil, Anne and Matt Sturgiss with truffle dogs, Dusty and Joker, offer a unique experience of a 'hands on' truffle hunt during winter. Hunt with the harvesters and truffle dogs and 'get down and dirty' as you help dig for the elusive fabled fungi from under the trees. Truffle harvesting is essentially a winter activity as the cold kilo-joules of the winter frosts are needed to fully mature the black winter truffle. The season runs from early June through to the beginning of September - all subject to the prevailing weather conditions. During the 2022 truffle harvesting season you are welcome to book in for any of their Saturday Hunts.
