The Pilbara Light Show presented by BHP will be running over the first weekend of July. Walyja Ngurra | Sohan Ariel Hayes & Ngamaru Bidu The Shire Of East Pilbara would like to present an exciting and unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in Martumilli art and see their home through the eyes and hearts of the region’s First Nations people. The Pilbara Light Show presented by BHP will be running from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd of July 2022, from 6:30 PM to 9:30PM. The Pilbara Light Show presented by BHP is created by Perth-based media artist Sohan Ariel Hayes, and senior Martumili artist Nga maru Bidu, Walyja Ngurra is an interactive, immersive experience of Western Desert Country. Drawn from the blazing landscapes that Martu artist Ngamaru Bidu paints, Walyja Ngurra bathes viewers in intense chromatic light inspired by the cultural and land management practices of Martu using waru (fire). They would like to thank the presenting sponsor BHP and major sponsor BTP for making this experience come to life!
