Nicola Dickson - Walking the Murray - in the steps of Blandowski, paintings

Starts: Thursday, 26 May 2022
Ends: Saturday, 11 June 2022
During a recent artist’s residency in Mildura on the Murray River, Nicola Dickson was captivated by the flora, fauna and history of the area. Walking through the landscape, she reflected on its stories, re-tracing the steps of the 19th century explorer William Blandowski. As Nicola says, “I was intrigued by the abundant birdlife and the sudden transition of vegetation from low desert mallee to verdant tangled strips of black box eucalyptus and river red gums that hugged the river.”
