Glass Light Catcher Workshop - Learn to Copper Foil

Glass Light Catcher Workshop - Learn to Copper Foil

Starts: Saturday, 24 July 2021
Ends: Saturday, 09 July 2022
Create your very own glass light catcher in this one day workshop in the Macedon Ranges. Using the technique of copperfoiling, often known as Tiffany style, you will create your own light catcher from start to finish using a design as a guide. You will learn about the different types of window glass; transparent, opaque, textured, clear, and not to mention the huge range of colours. You will learn to transfer your pattern onto your different pieces of glass, before cutting it out and refining the shapes using our glass tools including the grinder. Once you have laid out your design they will teach you to apply copper foil to each of your glass pieces before the real fun begins. You will be guided to tack solder your piece together, tin it and then and then cover your piece with solder before learning how to finish your piece with patinas if you wish. A delicious lunch will be provided created from all local organic produce and able to cater for any dietary requirements you may have. They also provide you with a divine afternoon treat and tea and coffee facilities are available throughout the course. Leadlight By Ettore has over 40 years of experience in all forms of Glass Arts and are proud to be a multi-generational family business, in the Macedon Ranges.
