Festival of King Island

Festival of King Island

Starts: Thursday, 27 January 2022
Ends: Saturday, 29 January 2022
Overlooking King Island's picturesque Currie Harbour, the Festival of King Island brings together a bevvy of great folk/blues/country/rock talent. FOKI is where the artists come to have fun ... and so do we all. Performers have included Deborah Conway & Willy Zygier, Brian Ritchie (Violent Femmes), Kim Churchill, Caravana Sun, King Social, Dave and Brad (Hoodoo Gurus), The Getaway Plan, Bobby Alu, Wanderers, Boo Seeka, Benjalu, Shaun Kirk, Clare-Anne Taylor, Laura Hill, The Spindrift Saga, The Saxons, Simon Astley and many many more who mix it up close and personal with Australia's friendliest bunch of folks. Add into the mix the island's great cheese, beef and seafood and its great surf, dive and beachcombing beaches and you are likely to find all your sensations tingling by the end of the festival weekend. If that doesn't convince you then there is always the 100m soap-accelerated plastic-sheet waterslide full of thrills as it weaves and cascades its way through the scrub surrounding the festival. There is also a raft race full of un-seaworthy vessels that rarely make it back to dry land, as well as a pie-eating competition not for the faint-hearted nor weak-stomached. It's all great fun, family-friendly, casual and relaxed.
